ING: Azerbaijan Demonstrates Most Resilient Macroeconomic Indicators Among CIS-4

11:47 - 4.09.2026

September 4, Fineko/abc.az. According to a new report by Dutch banking group ING, Azerbaijan displays the most stable macroeconomic metrics within the CIS-4 group (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan) amidst rising global energy prices and regional currency risks.

Higher hydrocarbon revenues continue to reinforce the country’s fiscal and strategic reserves, enabling Azerbaijan to sustain substantial surpluses in its state budget and current account while keeping the manat firmly pegged.

While neighboring economies face logistics bottlenecks and external pressures, Azerbaijan’s strong buffers reduce the need for urgent monetary intervention. Analysts expect the Central Bank of Azerbaijan to maintain its key interest rate at 6.5% alongside moderate inflation in the 4–6% range. © Report
