September 3, Fineko/abc.az. Residents of industrial parks on Azerbaijan’s territories liberated from occupation have produced nearly 2.5 billion manats worth of goods, of which more than 100 million manats worth were exported.
This was stated by Deputy Economy Minister Anar Akhundov at the 4th International Conference on Mine Action in Baku.
“Companies engaged in manufacturing activities on the territories liberated from occupation have so far benefited from tax and customs incentives totaling 17.5 million manats when importing the necessary equipment, technological facilities and raw materials,” he said.
According to the deputy minister, around 1,000 taxpayers currently operate at more than 1,300 business facilities in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions.
The Aghdam Industrial Park and the Araz Valley Economic Zone Industrial Park are examples of industrial development and private investment on the liberated territories. Entrepreneurs there are provided with ready-to-use infrastructure.
According to Akhundov, the development of security infrastructure and a favorable investment climate are also attracting international investors. Investors from Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Switzerland, Russia, Pakistan and Belarus are implementing projects in various sectors.
