August 31, Fineko/abc.az. The number of billionaires worldwide grew by 8.2% in 2025, reaching a record high of 3,795 individuals, according to research firm Altrata's annual Billionaire Census 2026 report.

The combined wealth of this group expanded by 12.8% to reach $15.1 trillion, equivalent to nearly a quarter of the S&P 500 index's total market capitalization.

This growth marks the strongest annual increase in billionaire population over the past five years. Overall, the global number of billionaires has surged by nearly 60% over the last decade.
