In January 2026, Meta developed an ambitious internal strategy to automate a significant portion of employee tasks using AI agents, aiming to reduce its total headcounts by up to 25%.

However, the initiative met strong pushback from staff, who highlighted major flaws in the AI systems, ranging from frequent technical glitches to severe data leak vulnerabilities.
