Goldman Sachs, BofA, and Major Banks Plan Joint Dollar Stablecoin Launch in 2027

September 1, Fineko/abc.az. A consortium of 21 major financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citi, and Deutsche Bank, announced on Tuesday plans to launch a joint US dollar-pegged cryptocurrency in the first half of 2027.

To facilitate the initiative, the group intends to establish a dedicated joint venture company later this year. The planned stablecoin aims to bridge traditional banking with digital asset infrastructure, catering to growing institutional demand for regulated, blockchain-based settlement solutions and digital dollar representations.
