Gold prepares to end volatile week higher at $4,467

10:52 - 4.09.2026

September 4, Fineko/abc.az. Gold, which gained more than 2% on Thursday, stabilized after comments on inflation from a Fed official reduced expectations of rate hikes, putting it on track to close the week with modest gains. Spot gold traded flat this morning around $4,467 per ounce.

Fed Governor Christopher Waller indicated he could support keeping interest rates unchanged if price pressures continue to show signs of easing.

The US dollar falling to its lowest levels since May makes gold purchases more attractive for buyers using other currencies. Meanwhile, silver is trading near $66.90.
