Ford Recalls Nearly 149,000 Vehicles in the US Over Power Loss and Visibility Risks

14:29 - 1.09.2026

September 1, Fineko/abc.az. Ford Motor Company is recalling 148,663 vehicles in the United States due to technical issues that could lead to a sudden loss of drive power and impaired visibility, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Tuesday.

According to filings released by NHTSA, the safety recall addresses potential failures involving the loss of driver power, as well as malfunctions in the headlights and windshield washer systems. These defects significantly reduce driver visibility and control, elevating the risk of crashes, particularly in adverse weather conditions or during night driving.

Ford authorized dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and perform the necessary software updates or component replacements free of charge. Notification letters are expected to be sent to impacted vehicle owners in the coming weeks.
