Anglo Asian Mining increases gold production in Azerbaijan

July 15, Fineko/abc.az. Anglo Asian Mining (UK), engaged in the extraction of gold, copper and silver in Azerbaijan, increased copper production in the 2nd quarter of 2026 almost 7.8-fold versus Q2 of 2025, up to 5,129 tons.

With reference to mining company's operating results, it is reported that growth was ensured mainly due to expansion of production at Damirli field.

Gold extraction grew by 1% from 6,208 ounces up to 6,272 ounces and silver production by 56.3% from 32,033 ounces up to 50,059 ounces.

In the first 6 months of the year, the company achieved record production levels. Copper production grew by approx. 7.4 times, from 1,188 up to 8,840 tons, gold production by 1.8% from 12,114 up to 12,329 ounces and silver production by 48.9%, from 62,348 up to 92,855 ounces.

Following sales results, the company sold 7,126 ounces of gold bars from January to June (27.1% less versus Jan-Jun 2025). However, the average sale price increased by 51.6%, from $3,077 up to $4,664.

Sales of concentrate showed a sharp increase. In the first half of the year, the company sold 58,577 metric tons of dry copper concentrate, generating profit of $125.9 million. Of this, $54.5 million accounted for Gedabek mine and $71.4 million for Damirli mine, which was first put into production.
