July 14, Fineko/abc.az. As of June 1, 2026, the number of employees in Azerbaijan reached 1.79 million (1.2% more than on June 1, 2025).

The State Statistics Committee informs that 859,900 people were employed in the public sector (1.5% less than a year earlier) and 930,700 people in the non-public sector (3.85% more).

18.6% of employees were engaged in trade and vehicle repair, 18.1% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.6% in healthcare and social services, 6.6% in construction, 6.1% in public administration and defense, social security, 4.4% in transport and warehousing, 4% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in financial and insurance activities, 2.3% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and 15.1% in other sectors of the economy.
