July 17, Fineko/abc.az. According to the updated data of the Russian government's system E-Budget, expenditures of Russia's federal budget for 2026 were increased from planned 44.07 trillion up to 45.11 trillion rubles (approx. $580 bn).

Against the backdrop of an unchanged revenue forecast of 40.28 trillion rubles, the expected budget deficit for the year will increase from 3.79 trillion up to 4.83 trillion rubles (nearly $62 billion). Growth in spending in recent years is primarily linked with large-scale investments in the defense sector.

In the 1st half of the year (January-June), Russian Federation's federal budget deficit has already reached 5.73 trillion rubles (2.5% of GDP), which is 1.7 times higher against Jan-Jun 2025.
