July 16, Fineko/abc.az. The Single Window system will significantly simplify import-export procedures for entrepreneurs, stated Fariz Aliyev, the Head of the Transport Policy Department at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
Aliyev explained that the system represents an important stage in Azerbaijan's digital transformation in transport and logistics: "The Single Window system is not just a new electronic platform. It is a new management model that unites government agencies, entrepreneurs, and carriers in a single digital environment, simplifies foreign trade processes, and makes services faster and more accessible. The main goal is to ease relations between the state and business, eliminate complex and repetitive procedures in import, export, and transit operations, and organize all processes in a unified digital environment."
He emphasized that through this platform, entrepreneurs and carriers will gain single-point access to essential state services related to import, export, and transit operations: "It covers a wide range of functions, including transport-logistics and commercial documents, licenses and permits required for customs and border crossing, certificates of origin and phytosanitary certificates, acceptance of applications, fumigation acts, and more.
Obtaining licenses, permits, certificates, and other required documents electronically, exchanging information and documents with state agencies digitally, and submitting cargo and vehicle data via a unified platform will greatly simplify procedures while reducing time and administrative costs."
The official added that the system is being introduced gradually, with government services integrated step by step: "Initial results have already been achieved, and in the next stages, the platform's functionality will be further expanded. This will also ensure a transition from post-factum analytical approaches to data-driven decision-making, while expanding the digital ecosystem and enabling continuous addition of new functionalities and quality parameters."
